WILSON NAMED ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

GOODLAND, KS – Northwest Kansas Tech head women's basketball coach, Brittany Christian is pleased to announce Jeanne-Marie Wilson as the new women's basketball assistant coach. Wilson will help lead coach Christian in all women's basketball operations and sports information.

"I'm ecstatic to have Jeanne-Marie join our Lady Maverick Basketball program. Her energy and passion will be a great asset to our huddles as well as her hunger for growth. I believe she'll be an outstanding role model for our young ladies and will challenge them in their growth as students, athletes, and young women".

Wilson joins the Lady Maverick family after spending the last five months as an intern for the office of Sports Information at Shaw University while pursuing a master's degree in Athletic Administration from North Carolina Central University.

 The Temple Hills, Md., native was a three-year starter for the women's basketball program at Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC. She earned the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Rookie Team during the 2012-13 season while also being active in the classroom, making the Dean's List and maintaining a 3.4 GPA. 

 In addition, Wilson assisted with women's basketball program at Saint Augustine's, where she was responsible for preparing scouting reports, going over film and other administrative assistant duties in 2015.

 "First, I would like to thank God for this wonderful opportunity," Wilson stated. "I want to thank Coach Christian for giving me a chance in this profession. I'm so grateful to be able to work for this great institution and I am super excited to get to work and I look forward to helping the Lady Maverick women's program continue its success and win championships."

 Wilson earned her Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Saint Augustine's in 2015. She completed her masters work in May 2017.
